Rimage Everest 600 & 400 Printer Ribbon Update

Rimage started shipping the new CMY II Ribbon a few months back. The new part number is 2002161 and it replaces the former ribbon part number 2001480 for Everest 400 and Everest 600 printers. The new CMY 2 ribbon is designed to offer broader media compatibility and better optimization for printed colors (mainly better blue and purple color fills).

There are new firmware updates for both the Everest 600 and Everest 400. If your printer is on a Producer (6100n, 7100n, 8100n, 5300n, or 5100n) or Professional system (5400n, 5410n, 3400 & 3410 models). You will also need to install Rimage Producer Software version 8.2 – 8.5 Service Pack 2. This updates color settings for the new CMY II ribbons.

Call Techware (1-800-295-0083 x-13) if you have any questions or need any assistance with your Rimage printer(s) or disc publisher(s).

SD and Micro SD card duplication

Recently an article was published which forecasted the market for SD cards to exceed $21 billion dollars by. It’s not a stretch to conclude that if only a fraction of the SD or micro SD cards will be used to store content meant for mass distribution or consumption, then the SD duplication business will be a very lucrative market in the very near future. More and more mobile devices utilize SD or micro SD cards for storage and/or playing content. Additionally, movies and video games are becoming more readily available on SD cards due to their compact size and rapidly increasing capacities.SanDisk Micro SD card

Unlike optical discs, there is only one way to copy flash cards and memory sticks… that is to duplicate it. Duplication, not replication is the way to go.

Each SD card has to be individually written to, which means that SD duplication service and the duplication equipment will be very much in demand.

Contact Techware for all of your USB, SD and micro SD duplication and printing needs.

Mass Duplicate a Master CD While Keeping the Session Open

Techware’s disc duplication division now offers the option of duplicating open session master CD-r discs that keep the target copies (duplicated CDs) open. This was a disc duplication request that we thought previously was not an option.

Microboard CD Duplicators

Kevin keeping and eye on a big Dupe Job

A new customer recently asked us to burn a very short program onto 500 black CD recordable discs. The trick is they wanted to keep the session open on all of the copies so their clients could add additional files to the disc at a later date.

This was thought to be impossible on standard CD-r discs using mass CD/DVD duplication towers or automated duplication systems made by Microboards, Primera or Rimage as the CD copies are always closed. We were able to locate some legacy 10-drive duplication towers that have the option of making exact duplicates while keeping the disc session open. Our customer just tested a handful of copies this morning and they all work perfectly for their needs.

If you have a need like this, please let our sales team know. We are excited to have this new CD duplication service available to our customers.

Save Money Using the Bravo SE CD/DVD Printer

Did you know that if you have a Primera Bravo SE made after January 2008 that you can use the much larger and more cost effective Primera 53335 ink color cartridge instead of the Primera 53332?

Advantage = much lower cost per print.

If you are not sure when your Bravo SE Disc Duplicator was manufactured simply try the larger BravoPro 53335 color cartridge. If it doesn’t work then simply download the appropriate printer driver and firmware update here.

DVD Copy Protection

We just did an interesting DVD Video copy protection job for a major Fortune 500 company in Minneapolis yesterday.

What made the job interesting was the extremely fast turnaround that was needed. We got the art and the DVD master at 3pm and had to have the discs courier back to our customer by 5:30pm that same afternoon for a presentation.

We were able re-master the DVD video and add the state-of-the-art digital security copy protection that will protect the valuable content against illegal DVD copying. We then printed the 10 discs, packed them in slim jewel cases and called the courier for the pickup.

Everything went smooth and the customer got their copy protected DVD discs on-time.
