Everyday we repair thermal disc printers from Rimage. While Rimage has consolidated their work to one location in California we provide repair services and maintenance contracts in centrally located Minneapolis, MN.
The printer models that we repair include the older Prism and Everest models but we are also fully trained to repair the latest model – The Rimage Everest Encore Printer.
If you would like to start an Everest Encore printer repair simply package up your printer (don’t forget to pack a CMY/Retransfer Ribbon so we can test your printer) and contact Mike at 1-800-295-0083
Believe it or not manufacturers such as Rimage and Epson are still producing and we are selling disc publishing equipment at a decent pace in 2024.
Disc Publishers and Printer purchasers typically fall into one of two categories.
Data Archivists
Content Distributors
Data Archivists are taking advantage of the relatively cheap prices associated with deep or cold storage on optical media. Once a dataset is archived it can be stored offline away from malware and data theft and it the energy costs associated are much smaller than offsite or on prem cloud storage. The disc printing allows them to use serialization and barcode technology to maintain a catalog which helps with data retrieval.
Some of our recent customers purchasing disc publishers for data archival are police departments, small law firms for evidence and document storage and State departments where regulatory compliance is critical.
Content Distributors are taking advantage of the resurgence of physical media and helping their customers extract the most revenue from their musical and video creations. The familiarity of established brands like the Epson Discproducer series of publishers means customers have a brand they know and trust.
Some of our recent customers purchasing Epson disc producers for content distribution are small local disc printers serving their local arts community and hospitals using the publishers for medical imaging. The relatively inexpensive cost of blank printable recordable CD & DVD and Epson discproducer ink cartriges means that even small production runs can be viable business opportunities.
Rimage Printers are also still selling well with both new and used units getting shipped to higher volume producers.
Of course we stock and sell all kinds of blank media and disc printing supplies for all the major brands of disc printers and publishers. If you don’t see something that you need don’t hesitate to contact us at 952-944-0083.
The simple answer has always been “Meet people where they are at.”
Look no further than the strategy employed by the folks at likely the biggest label in the world – Universal. When releasing Gwen Stefani’s new album “Bouquet” on CD they took to the airwaves. HSN airwaves to be precise.
Are Labels and Artists are still selling Physical Media in 2024?
Yes in fact many labels and artists are making heavy pushes back into physical media because the return on investment is much higher than streaming returns.
Why is Gwen Stefani on HSN hawking her new CD?
It’s about meeting your customers where they are at. Gone are the days of pushing out albums through a physical distribution channel. While Walmart, Target and Best Buy may still have a tiny retail footprint dedicated to selling physical albums, that doesn’t mean that folks that buy physical albums are making it to the store.
The marketing demographics for individuals purchasing albums on compact disc skews older and HSN still is able to grab a decent amount of those eyeballs. As they age, they are less likely to visit retail stores for shopping excursions so Universal went to them via HSN’s direct sales TV network.
I’m not big enough to get on HSN – How can I meet my audience where they are at?
Websites are a great way to meet your audience where they are and of course one of the oldest ways is still a great method – The Merch Table. Folks who have come to listen to your music want to support you as an artist. Compact Discs give them a great option to show their monetary support to your artwork and the physical item will always outperform intangible products like streaming.
Are you ready to press some CDs for your next Show?
We are here when you are ready – no quantities are too small. you can always visit our main website for your next Album Pressing or call us at 952-944-00830
Do your disc prints have unexplained vertical white lines on them?
Dust or debris on your printhead is the most common problem associated with vertical lines that appear on your thermal printed discs.
What can I do to fix these problems-
Keeping your work environment clean is vital to minimizing the dust and debris that can build up on your printhead, causing a line in your print. Using a cleaning kit (swab & solution) regularly can help remove a buildup of dust or debris.
When cleaning your printhead it’s very important to never use anything that is abrasive, metallic or sharp. These types of objects can scratch the printhead and once it’s damaged the only option moving forward is replacement. If you’re unsure let us do the work for you
Is my Rimage Prism or Everest printhead damaged, or does it just need to be cleaned?
That is a question that may require us to physically inspect your printer.
What can Techware do to fix these problems-
Sometimes more work is needed and that’s where our service techs can help. We have the ability to break down your machine for a true deep cleaning. This removes the tough build up. We also work to identify any other problems that may be lurking in the printer. We’ll only recommend replacing faulty parts when absolutely necessary.
Our techs thoroughly clean the printer, then adjust & calibrate and restore your Rimage printer to like-new condition.
Why spend tens of thousands of dollars on new disc printing equipment when we can restore your systems for a fraction of the price.
Having issues with your Rimage Prism Autoprinter or 7100n/8100n failing to pick discs or dropping discs regularly?
Is your Rimage system’s problem getting worse? We can help.
Gripping issues can result from alignment being off with the printer or the input/output bin. The ribbon cable wearing out or being damaged can also cause issues. Ultimately the vast majority of Rimage picker issues are caused by the picking mechanism itself.
Techware specializes in repairing Rimage printers and hardware including pickers and grippers. Just recently a longtime customer sent us 5 bad grippers. We fixed all 5 and saved this customer over $2000 over the cost of new Rimage grippers ($700 each). Oftentimes grippers can be refurbished and keep right on humming along in production for years to come. Sometimes they need to be replaced – we’ve got the experience to help you make that decision.
We can also help you out with spare CD/DVD and Blu-ray burners. Power supplies, main boards, print heads, and embedded PC modules. Almost all Rimage models ranging from the 2000i, 3400/5400n, 6100/7100n/8100n to the newer 72oon/8200n systems.
Keep your Rimage printers running longer, with less capital expenditure by calling us today.
Every day we get calls from customers looking for help with their Rimage disc publishers. Today we fielded a call from a customer with multiple Rimage thermal disc printers and duplicators that needed some attention. Their Prism Plus printers were only printing on half of the DVD surface and they needed the disc detect strip replaced. They were also running into heat roller thermostat issues with an Everest II. Finally their auto-loader and a 7100n CD duplicator needed a new flex cable and picker mechanism to correct disc picking issues from the input and output bins.
Mike, our dedicated Rimage service manager, listened to their needs and determined that they could benefit from some Rimage technical support, potentially some repair services and that it might be a good idea to explore some cost effective equipment upgrade options.
Mike has over 15 years helping our customers keep their operations up and their costs down utilizing certified pre-owned Rimage equipment. The customer was thrilled that they found an alternative Rimage system and printer support option.
Having similar Rimage issues? Give us a call and ask for Mike (952) 944-0083.

We are currently looking for a couple used Rimage 8200n or 7200n systems with Windows 7 or Windows 8 OS. Contact us at 952-944-0083 if you have a Rimage Producer IV 8200n system you are no longer using (ideally with the Prism III thermal monochrome printer).
We just completed a repair of a Rimage Professional Series 5300n disc publisher and Everest 3 thermal printer for a local customer. The unit was dropped off yesterday morning and we completed the service today. Our turnaround times are fast, but can vary based on demand.
These 5300n machines are 5 to 8 years old now, but still very solid equipment for making CDs and DVDs.
We turned this repair in just 36 hours and the customer is picking up their Rimage duplicator today.
Call us @ (952) 944-0083 x13 if you need help with your Rimage 5100n or 5300n. We have tons of spare parts. If you plan on shipping a Rimage duplicator or printer into Techware for repair please use the original Rimage shipping boxes and inner packing foam.
Keep in mind Rimage moved to California and that Rimage no longer supports the 5300n or Everest III printers. We do, and we are far easier and more enjoyable to work with.
Primera has decided to go in an unorthodox direction with the new 4200 disc printer and producers lineup. Where as the trend had been towards individual ink cartridges to save money on per print prices – Primera has decided to revisit single ink cartridges.
Bravo 4200 features the latest in inkjet printing technology from Funai Electric Company Ltd. Just one ink cartridge needs to be replaced instead of four tanks for CMYK, simplifying operation and on-going maintenance.
It’s an interesting play betting that IT admins and purchasing agents will pick simplicity over cost. Of course we’ll keep our eyes and ears on the market and respond accordingly.
We carry printing supplies from all the major manufacturers including: Epson, Primera, Microboards, Rimage and more. Combined with A grade CD and DVD from CMC, TY and others we are proud to provide rock solid disc publishing solutions to our customers.
